Well, wouldn’t this be due in part to your previous point on the stat that suggests men are more likely to be convicted of crimes? As a man, knowing I may get in trouble for doing something I may not find to be absolutely wrong stir closer to not doing it. And the opposite may go for women in that knowing they are likely to not be convicted of a similar crime that they do not think is absolutely wrong might stir them in the direction of committing that crime. I’m interested to know if this was taken into consideration in these studies.
