SuperMeditor Now Boasts 145 Publications With 532,000 Total Subscribers — It’s Time to Move Writers Forward
Where We Are Today
SuperMeditor was launched on April 22, 2016 with a single publication being advertised to attract new writers. Soon thereafter, many more publications, large and small, signed up to have SuperMeditor aide their publication(s)’s growth efforts. Today, there are 145 publications being advertised on SuperMeditor, and across all of them, there are 532,171 followers (subscribers or readers). Some publications have grown by thousands of followers since joining SuperMeditor with the help of the additional writers gained through SuperMeditor.
Most publications have acquired anywhere from 1 to 20 new writers while others — The Writing Cooperative by Sand Farnia, One Short Story Everyday by Dheeraj Dhobley, Marketing Hacks by ali mirza, 100 Naked Words by Johnson Kee, and Marketing And Growth Hacking by myself to mention a few— have managed to garner anywhere from 21 to 200 new writers.
With the help of the SuperMeditor Chrome extension, editors have been able to more efficiently manage incoming requests from writers to contribute to their publication and writers have been able to easily request to contribute to a publication through Medium:
Editors have even been able to receive links to reference articles from aspiring writers. This has increased the confidence of editors in the new writers they gain through SuperMeditor.
Where We’re Going
As SuperMeditor has become a home for new publications to flourish and veteran publications to continue growing, I am happy to have aided in the continued growth of so many publications. But how about the writers?
Since the launch of SuperMeditor, it has primarily been focused on the growth of publications and aiding in the process of editors. Editors advertised their publications and writers would request to be added as contributors. It’s time to not only flip the table, but build an entirely new table where both sides can supply the demand.
Coming soon, writers will be able promote themselves to be found for new opportunities in publications. With this, writers will be listed on a page with similar design to the current publications page and publication editors will be able to browse the list of promoted writers to find writers who may fit their publication’s content needs. Writers will even be able to add keywords of the type of content they write about for editors to easily search through like the current search functionality for publications.
I’m a Writer! How Do I Sign Up?
If you are a writer and would like for SuperMeditor to promote you as such for editors to find, you should simply navigate to SuperMeditor.com click the green button that reads “Promote Me as Writer”. This will let me know that you would like to be added to the list of writers who want to be promoted as a writer. When enough writers have signed up for this feature, I will launch it to the public. For now, after you signup, you can do one of two things: sit tight or share this article with other writers who may be interested so they can signup, too. From my experiences, I don’t believe that it will take any longer than a month from now to garner enough interest from writers, but to speed up the process, please share as much as you want.
I’m an Editor! How Will Discovery Work?
Simple. Instead of the “Contribute” button next to each writer’s information in the list, their will be a “Copy” button. Clicking that button will copy the writer’s Medium username for you to easily paste into your list of writers on your publication’s settings page. If you are currently using the SuperMeditor Chrome extension, you already know how simple and timely adding new writers will be as it’ll work much like the system in the image to the left (or above) but with a better design.
Conclusion
I hope you are all enjoying SuperMeditor and that it it is helping you all more efficiently manage and grow your publications. I look forward to releasing this new feature and hope the community does, too.
